Tooling, Transportation & Storage

Protecting high value assets such as aircraft engines and wings during transport, maintenance and even long term storage has become a particular specialisation of TBD/Owen Holland. We design and manufacture transportation stands, storage containers and parking stands to ensure the safe transit and long term integrity of high value assets such as aircraft engines and their derivatives.

    Tooling, Transportation & Storage

Whether you require an engine cradle purely for local mobility during maintenance or for full long term storage capability complete with constant environmental control our dedicated design team will engineer a bespoke solution to suit both your operational needs and your budget. We set out to fully understand your needs and work closely with the users/engineers to ensure our solution meets all the criteria in respect of safety and mobility as well as minimum maintenance and lowest possible cost of ownership.

Our designs range from simple engine parking stands to fixtures for transportation such as the Typhoon Wing Transportation stand recently supplied to UK MOD. We can offer transport covers manufactured using steel or aluminium frames covered with vacuum formed ABS covers designed to protect engines and other high value assets from damage during air freight transportation.

Where long term storage often in arduous climates becomes an issue the TBDUK range of long term storage containers can be supplied with environmental control packages designed to automatically maintain temperature and humidity at a level which prevents damage to high value assets. Our designs are fully air transportable in B747 aircraft and also consider aspects such as maintenance and quick availability, engines can be rotated without the need to open our containers and automatic canopy opening allows for immediate engine availability when required.
